Beecher City school board members Monday approved the intergovernmental agreement concerning the Effingham Regional Career Academy.

14 area school districts are joining with Lake Land College and other partners in making various courses available to high school students in those districts. The vision is to build an academy facility near the Lake Land College Kluthe Center in Effingham.

Beecher City board members also approved an co-operative agreement in boys soccer with the Altamont and Cowden-Herrick districts. The Board also hired Adam Torbeck as the junior high Scholastic Bowl coach.
