Two women were killed when struck by a pickup truck Saturday in Olney.

48-year-old DeAnn Richardson and 69-year-old Judy Jourdan, both of Olney, were killed in the incident, which occurred at 7:49pm.

Illinois State Police report the pickup truck, driven by 60-year-old Michael Mattox of Dundas, was traveling on North Avenue near West Street in Olney when the truck proceeded through the intersection. The truck ran off the roadway and struck an outdoor patio portion of Deuce's Wild Saloon. Richardson and Jordan, who were standing on the patio were struck by the pickup truck. Both were pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Richland County Coroner's Office.

Mattox was taken to the hospital for treatment of what were termed minor injuries.

Mattox was cited for aggravated DUI, no valid driver's license, and improper lane usage. There are reports that additional charges may be forthcoming. When contacted this morning, an official from the Richland County State's Attorney's Office had no comment.
