6,762 Confirmed and Probable Cases of COVID-19 in Illinois Wednesday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday reported 6,762 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in the state. 135 additional COVID-related deaths in the state were reported.

A male in his 80s was the only COVID-related death reported in our area, but there was at least one COVID-related death in more than 40 Illinois counties reported Wednesday.

As of Tuesday night, 4,593 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 953 patients were in the ICU and 536 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
