One Injured in Crash on Illinois 33 at Teutopolis/Elliotstown Blacktop

One person was injured Wednesday morning in a crash on Illinois Route 33 at the Teutopolis/Elliotstown Blacktop.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the crash happened at 7:43am and involved vehicles driven by 28-year-old Allison Thoele of Montrose and 25-year-old Augusto Tecum of Percy, Illinois. 

Deputies report Thoele was southbound on the blacktop and pulled into the intersection and collided with the Tecum vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the ditch on the south side of the highway.

Thoele was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Thoele was cited for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and failure to yield at the intersection.
