Fatal Crash South of Herrick

A Pana man was fatally injured in a crash south of Herrick late Thursday night.

28-year-old Jacob Henschen was a passenger in a car traveling on Fayette County Road 1450 East near County Road 2900 North when the crash occurred at 9:55pm. State police report the car was southbound negotiating a curve when it ran off the roadway to the left and overturned.

Fayette County Coroner Dave Harris pronounced Henschen dead at the scene. Harris reported the impact from the crash threw Henschen from the vehicle.

The driver of the car, 24-year-old Caleb Lamb of Pana, was injured and was taken for treatment. Another passenger, 27-year-old Derrick Lesser of Pana, was not reported injured.

State police are continuing their investigation into the crash.
