Just Over 11,000 New COVID Cases Reported in Illinois Thursday

Just over 11,000 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease were reported in the state Thursday by the Illinois Department of Public Health. 196 additional deaths were reported.

One COVID-related death was reported in Coles County, a female in her 90s, as well as one death in Clay County, a female in her 80s. Six deaths were reported in Marion County; a female in her 80s, a male in his 80s, two females in their 90s, and two males in their 90s.

As of Wednesday night, 1,081 patients in Illinois hospitals with COVID-19 were in the ICU and 606 patients with COVID-19 in Illinois hospitals were on ventilators. 5,138 in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19.
