Second Weekend of Firearm Deer Season Underway

Whether you got out this morning or can't go until Sunday, here's hoping this second weekend of firearm deer hunting season is safe and successful.

The season each day runs from one half-hour before sunrise until one half-hour after sunset.

The statewide deer harvest during the first weekend was down approximately 3,000, although Effingham County saw a slight increase from the same weekend one year ago.
