Dieterich residents can submit photos on Facebook until December 16. Residents can vote for their favorites from December 23-30.

The first place winner will receive free sewer and trash service for the month, second place will mean a 75% discount, and the third place finisher will get a 50% discount.

The Village Board approved the contest at their recent meeting.

Board members also approved a $2,000 change order for additional dirt work on the Liberty Park pond project. The work involves spreading the material dredged out of the pond onto nearby farm fields.

The next phase of the work will involve seeking grant funds toward the cost of a new dock at the pond.

Board members also passed the fiscal year tax levy, which will generate about $3,000 in additional revenue. A county multi-jurisdictional all hazards mitigation plan was also approved, so a plan is in place in case of an emergency. The Board also approved the audit for the past fiscal year.
