Largest One-Day Total of COVID Related Deaths in Area Counties Wednesday

The Illinois Department of Public Health reported the largest one-day total of COVID-related deaths in area counties on Wednesday.

The total includes two deaths in Effingham County, a female in her 70s and a female in her 80s; as well as two in Clay County, a female in her 60s and a male in his 70s; one in Cumberland County, a male in his 80s; one in Jasper County, a female in her 90s; and one in Shelby County, a female in her 90s.

There were 11,378 positive cases of COVID reported in Illinois on Wednesday.
