Tristin Duncan 2020

Great news Thursday regarding Tristin Duncan, the Effingham High School senior injured in a crash October 20 on West Evergreen Avenue.

Tristin, the object of many prayers and well-wishes during the weeks since the crash, had been dealing with bleeding on the brain. His neurological scan Thursday, though, showed the blood is gone.

A Facebook post from his mom, Amanda Sloan, indicated that Tristin can resume normal activities. That includes driving, weight lifting, and playing football whenever the season begins.

Hearts varsity football coach Brett Hefner said there was "a little bounce in the room today" as the news began to spread.

Despite the intensity of the crash involving Tristin's car and the truck with which he collided, Tristin suffered no broken bones.

In her post, Amanda Sloan thanked God and "all the amazing prayer warriors" who have been faithful to lift up her son.

Hefner said it was a good day since not only Duncan, but fellow Hearts footballer Jacob Briggerman was on hand Thursday. Briggerman has begun chemotherapy for bone cancer in one of his lower legs. He will be undergoing chemo, then surgery, then more chemo as his treatment continues at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

Thanks be to God and all the amazing prayer warriors!! Tristin had his follow up with Neurology today and the blood on...
