Veterans Day Observance Set for Wednesday in Downtown Effingham

The 2020 Veterans Day observance is set for Wednesday in downtown Effingham.

The ceremony will begin at 10:30am on the lawn of the Courthouse Museum at the Veterans Memorial. Effingham VFW Post #1769 will serve as the host organization.

The guest speaker will be 1st Sergeant Jeremy Deters of the 1644th Transportation Group of the Illinois Army National Guard, based in Paris.

First Christian Church Pastor David McConnell will offer the invocation and deliver the benediction. Patrick and Julie Zuber will sing the National Anthem. Bob and Charlie McWhorter will raise the flag, and Matt Stead will play "Taps".
