State Crop Report for Week Ending November 8

There were 6.7 days suitable for fieldwork in Illinois during the week ending November 8.

Statewide, the average temperature was 54.7 degrees, 9.1 degrees above normal. There was no measurable precipitation reported across the state.

Topsoil moisture supply was rated 6 percent very short, 25 percent short, 67 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 10 percent very short, 32 percent short, 57 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain was 95 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 89 percent. Soybean harvest was 96 percent complete, compared to the 5-year average of 93 percent.

Winter wheat planted was at 97 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 92 percent. Winter wheat emerged was at 90 percent, compared to the 5-year average of 77 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated 3 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 19 percent fair, 55 percent good, and 15 percent excellent.
