Effingham County Adds 22 New Cases of COVID-19 Tuesday

Effingham County's health department added 22 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday and reported that a man in his 70s was hospitalized with the virus.

In the release Tuesday, the health department requested "everyone to do their part in reducing the spread of COVID by masking up properly, washing hands regularly, maintaining 6ft social distancing and avoiding large groups."

Coles county reported 23 new cases and Shelby county has seven new cases. Fayette County has nine new confirmed cases while the Marion County Health Department  reported 20 new positive cases. Overall the Illinois Department of Public Health reported 4,000 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.

The State IDPH Mobile COVID-19 testing unit returns to Effingham on Sunday, November 1 from 9 am - 5 pm, at the health department at 901 West Virginia Avenue. The testing service is available to anyone seeking testing. No appointment or physician order is required, and there is no charge to individuals for COVID testing.
