The increase in new cases comes as Governor Prizker announced Monday new restrictions that will go into place Wednesday for Region 4 in the Metro East, comprised by the counties of St. Clair, Madison, Monroe, Clinton, Bond, Washington, and Randolph. The restrictions come after multiple days of positivity rates above 8%. Bars and restaurants are to be closed for indoor service, and gatherings are to be limited to 25 people or 25% of capacity. Region 5 was placed in the same category last week.

Additionally, the IDPH Mobile COVID-19 testing unit will return to Effingham on Sunday, November 1 from 9 am - 5 pm at the Effingham County Health Department.
