Meador Arrested in Florida

The US Marshal's Florida/Caribbean Fugitive Task Force and Walton County, Florida Sheriff's Department officials Wednesday arrested Olney murder suspect Rick Meador.

The 18-year-old Meador was arrested on a warrant from Richland County for first degree murder. Also taken into custody was a 16-year-old female from Olney who was listed as missing and endangered in connection with the Olney murder investigation.

Police have been seeking Meador since September 6, when he became a suspect in the shooting death of 19-year-old Kyle M. Johnson of Olney.

Meador is being held on $500,000 bond in Walton County, Florida Jail, awaiting extradition. The 16-year-old female was taken into protective custody by the Emerald Coast Children's Advocacy Center.
