We are routinely asked where people can get COVID-19 screening tests. Here's the list as posted on the website of the Effingham County Health Department:

COVID Testing Sites:

Testing Sites in Effingham

SIHF Health Care –Tues & Thurs. 1-3:30. Call hotline # 618-646-2596 and go thru screening. Will bill insurance.

Express Care – Out by Menards. 217-994-9301 – Mon-Fri 9-5:30. Sat & Sun. 10am-5pm. No appt necessary. State lab testing only. Will bill insurance if you have any, but not Medicaid. Will bill client for what insurance doesn’t cover for the office visit. If no insurance, will bill to Cures Act.

St. Anthony’s Health Care Center does pre-surgical testing only. 217-347-1690

HSHS Medical Group will test only their patients. 217-341-0458

Testing Sites in Mattoon:

Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center – 217-258-7490 – Pre-Surgical tests on Mon, Tues, Fri. & Sat. from 7am-12pm. Community Testing – Mon-Fri. 1-6pm. Pre-Register. 48-hour turnaround.

Carle Mattoon – 217-258-5900 - across from Movie Theatre. State testing, Mon-Sun. 8am-8pm. 48-hour for results.

Mattoon Walk-In Clinic – 217-238-3000 – Mon-Fri, 7am-7pm; Sat-Sun 8am-3pm. No appt needed. Will only test if having COVID symptoms.

Testing Sites in Newton:

Mid-Illinois Quick Clinic – 783-0954

Testing Sites in Flora:

Clay Medical Center – 800-408-7351 – Mon-Fri. 8am-5pm. Will bill insurance. State testing is free. Call # to get on schedule.

CCH Medical Clinic – 662-2191 – Call for an afternoon appt for testing, if having symptoms will be seen in clinic.

Testing Sites in Olney:

Carle Richland Memorial Hospital – 217-902-6100 – State testing Mon-Sun. 8am-8pm. No appt needed.
