Farina Man Charged w/Aggravated Battery, Possession of Weapon by Felon

A Farina man has been charged with aggravated battery and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon for an incident on Labor Day.

29-year-old Benjamin Charles Wilson was charged after he allegedly shot a young girl going by his house in the face with a slingshot. Wilson was also charged with possessing a spring-assisted knife and is a felon, having been convicted of possession of child pornography.

The counts Wilson faces are Class 3 felonies, punishable by up to two to five years in prison.

Judge Kimberly Koester set Wilson's bond at $25,000. He is due to make his first court appearance with counsel on September 16.
