Eastern Illinois University reports fall-to-fall enrollment jumped approximately 10.5% in Fall 2020.

This is the third consecutive year of growth in institutional enrollment. Increases in continuing, dual-credit, freshman, and graduate student enrollment fueled Eastern's ongoing increase.

In addition to general enrollment increase, EIU has seen an increase in its admission of high-achieving students, who have helped boost the university's incoming student profile for a third consecutive year, as well. This includes overall increases in incoming freshman ACT, SAT and GPA scores.

The university has been addressing the outmigration of high school graduates and some benefits are beginning to be seen. This fall's enrollment includes a 4.1% increase in new freshmen from within 60 miles of the university.
