Cumberland School Board Reviews Start of School Year

Cumberland school board members reviewed the start of the school year at this month's meeting.

Classes began on Monday.

Special thank yous were offered to Kathy Claybaugh Yocum and Julie Ozier from the Autism Acceptance in Cumberland County organization for completing plans for a new sensory room. There were also thanks to Roz Gresens for her continuing work on the Shoe Tree Program. She has secured funding and purchased more than 100 pairs of shoes for students. School officials said thanks to whoever helped get things ready for this different school year.

Cumberland board members accepted the resignation of Carrie Althoff as a paraprofessional, and to post the position internally.

It was also shared that the Trap Shooting Club held an informational meeting. Any student that was not able to attend and would still like to participate should contact Larry Himes.
