$1 Million Bond Set for Lane

Bond has been set at $1 million for the Westfield man charged with murder in Cumberland County.

44-year-old Toby L. Lane is charged with fatally injuring 42-year-old Bridget Duncan of Westfield July 21 by blunt force trauma to the head. Duncan died the next morning.

During a hearing Monday morning at Cumberland County Courthouse, Lane indicated he would be retaining private counsel. As a result, Lane's preliminary hearing was continued to August 31.

In addition to murder, Lane is charged with aggravated battery and aggravated domestic battery.
