Over 40,000 COVID Tests Statewide for the Third Straight Day

For the third straight day, the Illinois Department of Public Health reported more than 40,000 tests for coronavirus disease in Illinois for the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Saturday.

The total of 46,099 tests reported Saturday is a new record for a 24-hour period in Illinois.

There were 1,276 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported Saturday. The report included 18 additional deaths statewide, 10 in Cook County. There were no COVID-19 deaths reported in an area county Saturday.
