Coronavirus 2020

19 new positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in Coles County.

That brings the number of positive cases in Coles County to 228. That includes three currently hospitalized, 168 who have recovered, 40 who are recovering, and 17 deaths.

Coles County Health Department is urging the community to follow CDC and IDPH guidelines. Illinois Department of Public Health Administrator Dr. Ngozi Ezike encourages Illinoisans to follow the 3 W's: Wear a mask, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands.

If you receive a call from Coles County Health Department, informing your status of isolation and/or quarantine, whether due to being a positive case or a contact to a case, please follow CCHD’s directions. CCHD is calling all positive cases and contacts on a daily basis. While in isolation and/or quarantine and you choose to be tested, the result of the COVID19 test does not change your release date. A test result of negative does not release you from your isolation and/or quarantine.

Meanwhile, Shelby County Health Department Friday announced that three Shelby County residents have tested positive for COVID-19.

A 22-year-old female, 23-year-old male and 25-year-old male have now tested positive and are currently under isolation with mild to moderate symptoms. To date, there have been 28 residents that have tested positive in the county.
