August Hearing Date Set in City vs Mall Case

A hearing is set for August 7 in the suit filed by the City of Effingham against Village Square Mall.

The City is seeking repairs to the Mall and has moved ahead with getting repairs completed to get the facility fully operational. The current owners have indicated a willingness to cooperate on repairs, but a disagreement over the amount of work needed, especially on the roof, has effected progress on the repairs.

The August hearing was scheduled during a telephone conference call involving the parties and Judge James Eder Wednesday morning.
