Clay County board members have approved a road use agreement with an alternative energy provider planning to locate in the county.

Maple Flats Solar Energy Center plans to place solar energy panels in Louisville, Harter and Oskaloosa townships to generate energy. The proponents have promised the county property taxes and investment dollars, as well as jobs, particularly during the constuction phase.

The work is to begin once harvest is completed.

The Board approved a culvert replacement project on Corinth Road in Bible Grove Township, and okayed $6,000 in 911 sign expenses. The County has to cover the cost as State law does not allow 911 dollars to pay for road signs.

Board members heard that there are positions for contact tracing workers through the Health Department. The Board appointed Jennifer Brown to the Airport Authority Board, Lisa Cash to the Board of Health, Curtis Leib to the Clay County 911 Board, and Dennis Holkenbrink to the Farmland Assessment Review Commission.
