A plea agreement is possible in a Fayette County shooting case.

34-year-old Trevor McCammack of Herrick is charged with attempted first degree murder in the shooting of David Troxell of Brownstown last September. Troxell went to a rural residence in the early morning hours of September 23 and sought assistance, saying he had been shot. Troxell was taken for treatment, and McCammack was taken into custody later that morning.

During a hearing Tuesday morning, Judge Mark Sheafor granted prosecutors permission to conduct a test that will consume a sample of evidence in the process as long as the defense gets all of the findings from the test.

Sheafor also scheduled a hearing on July 22 where the possible plea could be entered.

No trial date has been set. McCammack is being held in Fayette County Jail under $1 million bond.
