One person was taken for treatment after a collision Wednesday afternoon in Clay County.

The crash happened at 1:45pm Wednesday on US Route 45 at Roadrunner Road. State police report a box truck driven by 57-year-old Pavlo Diplon of Branson, Missouri, was at the rear of a line of traffic following a slow-moving vehicle. Police say Diplon attempted to pass the entire line of traffic in a no-passing zone.

At the same time, a car following the slow-moving vehicle began to turn left into a private drive and was struck by the passing box truck. The driver of the car, 65-year-old Judy Porter of Louisville, was injured and was taken to an area hospital for treatment of what were termed non-life threatening injuries. Diplon refused medical attention.

Diplon was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid the crash and passing in a no-passing zone.
