623 New COVID-19 Cases Statewide, One in Coles County and 26 at East Moline Correctional Center

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) today announced 623 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 72 additional confirmed deaths.

 

The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 9–June 15 is 3%.

The Coles County Health Department was notified today of One additional laboratory confirmed COVID-19 case. The total confirmed COVID-19 laboratory case count for Coles County is 146 with two currently hospitalized, 124 recovered, 17 deceased, and three recovering.

At this time, 26 men incarcerated at East Moline Correctional Center are confirmed positive for COVID-19.  They are appropriately isolated or quarantined and are being closely monitored by medical personnel.  Three staff at the facility also tested positive for the virus and one has recovered.  All the confirmed cases have been traced to the same dorm-style living unit.  The Illinois Department of Correction’s medical task force is utilizing point prevalence surveillance to help control any further spread of infection.
