975 New Cases of Coronavirus Reported Saturday in Illinois

The daily number of new cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois has remained below 1,000 for most of this week.

975 new cases were reported Saturday by the Illinois Department of Public Health. 72 deaths were reported statewide, 35 in Cook County. No COVID-19 related deaths were reported in any area county. 

No new positive cases were reported in any area county Saturday, either.

Over 21,000 specimens were reported by laboratories. The seven-day statewide positivity cases as a percentage of the total test is 5.5%.
