Sixth COVID-19 Related Death in Jasper County, New Positive Case in Fayette County

A sixth COVID-19 related death is being reported in Jasper County.

The person who died was a man in his 90s who had already been reported as having tested positive. There have been 46 individuals in Jasper County who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Fayette County is reporting that a 17th person has tested positive for the virus.

The numbers are unchanged in other area counties.

2,887 new cases were reported in the 24-hour period ending at 2pm Friday. 130 additional COVID-19 related deaths were reported statewide.

Pope County has reported its first positive case, bringing the number of states where a positive case has been reported to 98 of 102 in Illinois.

Over 20,000 tests were administered in the 24-hour period.
