Suzanne Allison Davis has assumed leadership as Greenville University's acting president, following the resignation of Dr. Ivan Filby. Davis has been appointed to finish the remaining two years of Filby's three-year term.

Davis was a tenure track faculty member when she arrived at GU in 2012, then made the transition to full-time administration, beginning as Filby's Chief of Staff in 2013. Most recently, she served as the university's executive vice president.

Davis is a 2000 Greenville graduate. She taught at Eastern Illinois University from 2005 to 2012.

"It's a challenging time in higher education," Davis said. "But that gives us an opportunity to innovate and rethink how we can better serve our students. In fact, loving our students is one thing we're known for and, often, it's when we are put to the test that our Christian values really stand out."
