Probable cause was found Tuesday to hold a local resident over for trial on a count of drug-induced homicide.

49-year-old Darnell Whitehead of Effingham is accused of selling drugs to a 25-year-old Effingham man that led to the man's death last October.

Drug-induced homicide is a Class X felony, punishable by six to 30 years in prison. Probation is not an option.

After finding probable cause, Judge James Eder set a June 22 trial date for Whitehead, with a final pre-trial hearing on June 11.

Whitehead is being held on $750,000 bond.
