Loads of vehicles showed up at Effingham High School for the #LightForTheFight event Friday night. It was an effort suggested by the IHSA as a salute to members of the senior class whose year has been so affected by COVID-19.

It was also a salute to those in the fight against the virus.

Thanks to Unit 40 Activity Director David Woltman and his family who had the EHS athletic complex illuminated for the salute. Our Wayne Moran has video from the evening on social media.

Other school districts in the state joined in the salute, including some from our area.

We were live from EHS earlier this evening, as Unit 40 turned on the lights at the athletic complex at 20:20 (8:20 pm)...
