Effingham High School participated in the IHSA "#LightsForTheFight" initiative Friday night, along with many other schools throughout the state.

At 8:20 pm, the lights at EHS athletic complex were illuminated and stayed on for 20 minutes. 8:20 pm in military time is 20:20 and EHS kept the lights on for 20 minutes.

The tribute was to show support for senior students of EHS and surrounding schools, as well as for all health care workers, first responders, and all other essential workers on the front lines of the pandemic.

We were live from EHS earlier this evening, as Unit 40 turned on the lights at the athletic complex at 20:20 (8:20 pm)...
