Stewardson-Strasburg school board members Wednesday heard that the CARES Act signed into law by President Trump on Friday includes additional Title I funds that must be distributed according to each state's Title I allocation for the most recent fiscal year.

The funds amount to $65,788. The money is intended to help strengthen the infrastructure for remote learning. The start date of the program has not yet been determined. The US Department of Education must release an application that will allow the State Board of Education to have access to the funds.

The Administration is working with QNS to determine what items might best meet the district's needs.

The Stew-Stras board renewed membership in the IESA for the coming school year, and approved student handbook changes for the coming year.

The Board also accepted the resignations of Justin Hunt as varsity baseball coach and of Colin McInerney as varsity assistant baseball coach as of the end of the current school year.
