1,346 Cases of COVID-19 Reported Wednesday in Illinois; 80 Additional Deaths

1,346 new cases of coronavirus disease were reported Wednesday in Illinois. The numbers include 80 additional deaths.

53 of those deaths occurred in Cook County. Five deaths were reported in DuPage County, four deaths in Lake, Macon, and Will Counties, three deaths in McHenry County, two deaths in St. Clair County, and one death each in Jackson, Monroe, Ogle, Rock Island and Whiteside Counties.

Union County is now reporting a case. Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 24,593 cases, including 948 deaths, in 89 counties in Illinois.

During Wednesday's daily press briefing, Governor J.B. Pritzker discussed the cost of the coronavirus to Illinois. Pritzker said the State is projecting a $2.7 billion shortfall for the current fiscal year, and a $4.6 billion shortfall for the coming fiscal year that begins July 1.

The governor Wednesday also lobbied for another stimulus bill, this one in support of state governments.
