1,222 New Cases of COVID-19 Reported in Illinois Tuesday

The Illinois Department of Public Health Tuesday announced 1,222 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state. The numbers include 74 additional deaths.

35 of the cases occurred in Cook County. 13 deaths occurred in Will County and in Lake County, five deaths in DuPage County, two deaths in Monroe County, and one death each in Jackson, Kankakee, McHenry, Sangamon, Tazewell, and Whiteside counties.

As reported earlier, Clay County has reported its first positive case. 

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 23,247 cases, including 868 deaths, in 88 counties in Illinois.
