Canarm President and Chief Operating Officer Jim Cooper said the company is a global corporation that manufactures and distributes products globally in the residential lighting, agricultural equipment and HVAC markets. Cooper said, "The strategic positioning of this distribution center will enhance our growth strategy for the United States." He thanked the Teutopolis Village Board and Village President Greg Hess for "their great partnership to ensure Phase One of 65,000 square feet gets built in Teutopolis."

Cooper said Canarm looks forward to "employing many more people in the Teutopolis and Effingham areas."

Construction is set to start this month with the distribution center to be operational in the fourth quarter of this year.
