Public Health Officials Report 986 New Cases of Coronavirus Disease; 42 Additional Deaths

The Illinois Department of Public Health Wednesday announced 986 new cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois.

IDPH also reported 42 additional deaths.

There were 34 deaths in Cook County, two in DuPage County, and one in Carroll, Kane, Lake, Sangamon, Will and Winnebago counties. 

The Cook County deaths included a male in his 20s, two males in their 30s, and two males in their 40s. All of the other deaths in the state involved those 50 or older. That includes a woman in Cook County older than 100 years old.

Massac and Vermilion counties are now reporting cases. 

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 6,980 cases, including 141 deaths, in 56 counties in Illinois.
