Three people were injured when a SUV and van collided near Montrose Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at 9:32am on Illinois Route 121 at Cumberland County Road 1000 North.

Illinois State Police report a van driven by 86-year-old Norbert Wolke of Montrose signaled to make a left turn off the highway. An uninvolved semi was following Wolke, with the SUV involved, driven by 57-year-old Karen Bline of Mattoon, behind the semi.

Bline pulled out into the left lane to pass the semi, but Wolke pulled across the oncoming lane to make a left turn. Bline's vehicle struck the driver's side of the Wolke vehicle, and the two vehicle ended up stopped on the roadway.

Bline was taken to an area hospital for treatment of what police termed non-life threatening injuries. Norbert Wolke and his passenger, 84-year-old Ruth Wolke of Montrose, each refused medical treatment.

Bline was cited for improper passing.
