One Person Involved in Monday Morning Crash in County

One person was injured in a crash Monday morning in Watson Township.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 16-year-old Corynn Schoonover of Effingham was eastbound on 1150th Avenue at 1300th Street, south of the Effingham Business Park, at 7:45am. Deputies report Schoonover lost control of the vehicle while making a turn and struck the ditch, causing the car to overturn.

Schoonover was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.

Schoonover was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
