Fayette County Crash Injures Effingham Man

An Effingham man was injured in an early Saturday morning single-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 128 just north of Fayette County Road 2950 North.

State Police report at 2:23 Saturday morning Josh Dale Ledbetter, 20 of Effingham, was traveling south on Illinois Route 128 when he lost control of the vehicle after swerving onto the gravel shoulder.  He was unable to regain control and the car entered the ditch before striking a culvert.  After going airborne, the car overturned and caught fire.

Ledbetter was able to escape the vehicle but sustained injuries as a result of the crash.  He was taken to HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of injuries.

Ledbetter was ticketed for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving under the influence of alcohol..
