Cumberland school board members heard at this month's meeting about an informational meeting to be held for this year's 8th grade students.

The meeting will be held on February 10 at 6:30pm in the high school cafeteria. The high school staff will host the meeting for the incoming parents and students in the Class of 2024. Parents and students will hear at the meeting from teachers and learn about what classes to sign up for as they enter high school.

Cumberland Superintendent Todd Butler reported that he is still waiting on the specs and details from their architect on a proposed restroom facility with a storage area and concession stand. Butler said committee meetings are needed to get input on the proposed project, and encouraged board members to let him know when they are available to meet.

The Cumberland board approved the Cumberland Clay Target Club using the school name, mascot and school colors, and to have the items involved reviewed by the board for this club at the Board's January 2021 meeting. Board members also approved the submittal of a school maintenance grant to the State Board of Education, and approval of a revised policy designed to prevent sexual harassment.
