Altamont School Board Acts on Personnel Items, Other Matters

Altamont school board members took time at this week's meeting to thank those who worked on a Winter Fine Arts program in December, as well as the work by ACHS Industries to show off some of their new equipment with help from Ryan Eckhardt and Thrivent Financial.

In action items, the Altamont board:

--adopted policy updates

--purchased two vans for less than $20,500 each

--authorized Superintendent Steve Mayerhofer to begin the process of going out for bids for food services

--accepted the resignation of technology support specialist Chipman Schmidt

--approved a proposed contract change with QNS

--accepted the resignation of high school girls track coach Carol Hanna

--agreed to apply for a school maintenance grant

--approved updates to the Title I plan for Altamont Grade School

--employed Donald Reed as a non-certified staff member, pending completion of necessary requirements

--approved the addition of Finite Math to the high school curriculum

--approved Clint Reardon as a junior high track volunteer coach

--approved 2.5% raises for administrators
