The Effingham City Plan Commission Tuesday will review guidelines for an adult use cannabis sales location in the city.

Recreational Cannabis

Two items related to the facility are on the Commission agenda and will be the subject of public hearings on each item.

The Clinic already operates a medicinal marijuana facility at 1011 W. Ford Avenue, and plan to offer adult use cannabis sales at the same facility.

One public hearing will concern the language of a special use permit allowing an adult use cannabis dispensing organization in a B-5, or highway commercial, district.

The other hearing will concern an actual petition for a special use permit for the sale of adult use cannabis in the B-5 district.

Regardless of what the Plan Commission recommends, the final decision rests with the Effingham City Council. The Council will next meet on Tuesday, January 21.
