November Jobless Rate in Illinois at Historic Low

The Illinois unemployment rate in November fell to 3.8%, a historic low.

The Illinois Department of Employment Security said the rate is down a tenth of a percent from October, even while nonfarm payrolls were down by 17,200 jobs during the month.

The October monthly charge in payrolls was revised from 1,900 more jobs to 8,300 more jobs.

The state's unemployment rate down three-tenths of a percent higher than the national November rate of 3.5%

The state rate is down a half-percent from a year ago, when it was at 4.3%.
