North Clay school board members learned this week that the district's Rotary Interact club raised almost $600 for Exotic Felines from a fundraiser.

Interact is a Rotary-sponsored club featuring high school students. Students Madison Jones, Jenna Hoyt and Emma Wiley spoke about the fundraiser.

The Board also heard that Avery Pepple was the recipient of the 2020 212 Conference FFA Alumni Scholarship. She's the daughter of Stephanie and Kent Pepple of Iola.

Board members heard that the high school English Department is in the midst of a new curriculum search, that Grades K-8 are searching for new ELA curriculum, and adopted the tax levy for the new fiscal year.

The Board discussed the district's risk of a threat and adopted steps to take to address a threat.

Following a closed session, the North Clay board hired Madison Lewis as North Clay volunteer high school cheer coach.
