South Central school board members this week passed a Marion County Sales Tax 1% resolution. The move allows district voters to vote on the issue of imposing the tax during the March 2020 primary election.

The Board also passed a tax levy for the new fiscal year that is 4.99% higher than what was actually extended for taxes last year.

Board members approved leaves of absence for Patrina Boone, Jessica Lother and Kim Cousineau, then also accepted Patrina Boone's resignation as a support staff member as of January 1. The Board also hired Linda Uphold as a support staff member and hired Lauren Lotz as a certified staff member for the 2020-2021 school year.
