Dieterich school board members this week discussed possible options for the location of a proposed multi-use community building.

The project is a result of the latest MAPPING session held in Dieterich during the fall.

One of the possible locations for the building is a piece of school-owned property.

Dieterich board members approved an application for a waiver to allow the District to charge less than the per capita tuition charge for non-resident children of fulltime employees of the district. The matter will now be submitted to the State for consideration.

Dieterich Superintendent Cary Jackson said the levy is very little different than levies of the recent past. Jackson also estimated a decrease in the overall tax rate for the District.

The Board approved insurance policy renewal coverages with Liberty Mutual and Station National, through Ramza Insurance Group. They also approved easements that will allow the Village of Dieterich to make improvements to Pine and Church Streets near the school.

The Board also approved the purchase of a new bus for $83,206; pledged $150,000 toward the One to One Program initiative, with the program phased in over a multi-year timeframe; hired Beth Homann as a substitute bus driver; and approved Brent Bohnhoff and Devin Flach as volunteer coaches.
