Injury Crash During Noon Hour Tuesday

State police investigated a crash that occurred during the noon hour Tuesday on I-57, five miles north of Farina.

A car driven by 38-year-old Matthew Smith of Herrin was northbound just before 12:30pm when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway, struck the ditch and rolled over, coming to rest on its drivers side.

Smith was transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Smith was cited for improper lane usage.
