Watson One of 31 Illinois Fire Departments to Receive State Grant Funds

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources Monday announced 31 communities  will benefit from more than $225,000 in federal grants to rural fire departments and fire protection districts.

The money is made available through the USDA Forest Service Volunteer Fire Assistance federal grant program, and administered by IDNR in Illinois.

Watson Fire Protection District will be receiving $5,124 in grant funds. The money will purchase multiple diameters of fire hose.
